Care, Size & Fit

My pieces are made from 925s sterling silver and are made to last. As a goldsmith I believe in craftmanship and that if we produce with care we will handle it with care. My pieces are made to be worn with love and every mark and scratch makes them unique and enhances their character.

In commercial jewellery production, silver pieces are often silver plated on top of the 925s sterling silver. This gives them a longer period of “white shine” and they will look “younger” for a longer time.

I do not silver plate my pieces, because I believe in embracing the patina of metals as they live a long life. Silver oxidizes with time, and sweat, sulfur, and chemicals make the surface of the silver react.

If you don’t like the look of the oxidation, make a bowl of tin foil (with the shiny side upwards) and give it a bath in boiling water and salt. Repeat this process a couple of times to remove oxidation.

To rinse, use a toothbrush, hot water, and dishwashing soap.

I recommend visiting a goldsmith store to ensure the correct ring size. For any inquiries regarding size and fit, feel free to contact me at sarauwjewellery@gmail.com
